Job Description :
The main function of the TIS LTE RF Expert is to provide on site detailed technical knowledge, to ensure that the access platforms for each LTE trial / FOA is operating at the optimum performance for the s/w load and HW configuration available and to ensure that maximises the test pass rate and demonstrates the key functionality as listed in the test plan. This includes introducing new RF access products, new features and functionality, quality and key performance indicator improvements.
The role will include, but is not limited to the following
1. Support of the following access platforms and associated equipment – RRHs, TRDU based basestations either FDD or TDD including set up & operation of User Equipment (UE) from multiple vendors.
2. Loading new s/w, updating parameters, optimising performance, de-bugging problems, implementing fixes/patches, providing feedback to R&D / Product management
3. Using the following tools – System tools, LLDM, eDAT, EAT, Synchro, RF environment simulators (Azimuth, Spirent), RF measurement tools and scanners, CARES
4. Work closely with System Test and Global Product Support (GPS) to ensure latest information and processes are used in the trials. Provide feedback on the tools & documentation provided to ensure has a first class product.
5. Trial /FOA Preparation: ensure the appropriate s/w loads are used, understand the upgrade processes, know which Subject Matter Experts to contact in event of issues.
6. Help to develop, review test cases that relate to the RF performance e.g. throughput vs coverage, stability & KPI collection
7. Provide on the job training to Services staff or Customer for the access platforms deployed - basic operation, parameter setting & optimisation etc.
Desired Profile :
• Act as TIS Subject Matter Expert for RF access platforms, parameter setting, optimization, de-bugging etc
• Provide technical information to the Customer if requested.
• Ensure reported problems are recorded appropriately (e.g. CARES) and are handled with the correct priority within the whole organization.
Qualifications / Experience:
Minimum of 3 years Telecom experience in either a customer facing trials / new product introduction role or with a System test / R&D background
Strong technical background, organizing, decision making capability
Leadership and communication skills
Some Project Management experience is preferred
Must be fluent in English, other languages may be an advantage, e.g. French, German,
